Wonka is back! :)

My brother Wonka wants to make videos again. Head on over to amv.org to chime in with your support! Wonka hasn't made a video in 4 years, and is at least 51% of what made HypeOdermic Studios the artistic juggernaut it now enjoys the status of being. He made Appetite for Dynamite! Best Bebop video ever! Cmon!

I am in Hollywood, away from my computer, so I won't really be able to do anything on the website, DVD, forums, world peace until the end of September when I return to Austin. Thanks guys, for your continued patience and for basically leaving the light on for us these past 4 years.

Update #4

So I spent the last month working 7 days a week and helping Wonka coordinate his wedding. Last night at 7pm, Wonka got married! Congratulations!

I hop on a plane to Amsterdam tomorrow, and will be back on April 2nd. I'll have a new computer waiting for me when I get back so I can finally get something DONE. My old one is dying slowly but ever so surely.

Update #3

We've got a rough skeleton of a site sitting on my hard drive so far, and I like the sparsity (thats a word right?). Still need to take some more pictures.

I re-encoded all the videos into .mp4 but I did most of them about 6 months ago. Technology has since improved so it looks like I'm gonna have to do it again, rofl. Anything in the name of higher quality.

Also of note, with the unstoppable juggernaut of YouTube not slowing down anytime soon, I've decided to say "fuck it" to file sizes, compression, and the endless pursuit of shaving megabytes off of videos. When HypeO comes back, we are only hosting high quality versions. They would have been full resolution anyway but I'm tired of looking at pixilated shit on my monitor. So only the cherry versions from now on. This means, probably a 1 gigabyte version of Dead to the World.

We're going to have a profile section, video listings, a forum, and a blog. If you can think of anything else you'd like on the site, please comment <3

Update #2

So I'm talking with the web guy about web sites, and we've come to a conclusion on the basic outline of the site, what its gonna be, what is NOT going to be, etc. I'm still taking more pictures, and need to get Wonka's Mugshot.

I've been working for 70 hours in a week so its hard to find time to be creative. When its your job to be creative you either come home super charged and ready to take on the world, or completely drained. Its been drained lately, but we'll see. The show must go on.

Just wanted to keep everyone informed. I'm excited about the new site. And the forums won't be coming back up until the site is back up, which is going as fast as we can. The forum is nice, but theres a lot more too the site than that.

Update #1

Taking lots of pictures for the website. I just got a brand new Nikon D80 so I've been itching to test it out on something, anything, everything. Wonka and I have decided to take HypeO in a different direction, mainly away from anime. Neither of us watch it anymore, and its kind of silly to have old video game pictures hanging around still when we don't really play those either.

So I'm photographing all my medical supplies. Syringes, insulin, needle caps, etc. Once I finish that I'll start taking the portrait shots of Wonka and myself, and maybe do some misc artwork for the site.

I really hope someone still gives a shit out there. You never know with the internet. Cheers.

HypeO Status Updates

Hey guys, finally got around to getting a blog for this thing. As promised in the .jpg file of last year, we have big plans for HypeO and want to bring it back with all the ra-ra-ra you've come to expect from websites. I'll be posting periodical updates on progress. So far:
